Weary paws made their way to the dark engraved stone that made up the spot where, moon after moon, gatherings had been held. Eyes closed briefly from exhaustion, she leaped atop the rock and sat down. It felt odd and cold here, she hadn't been here the last moon, and it had felt like a season had gone by since then.

The brown tabby's body was still ragged and her ribs showed her malnutrition, even though it was the middle of green-leaf and prey was aplenty. ScarClan had tortured her more than words could define. Her brain had been played tricks with, even though her own ability attempted to help her, but failed in the end.

She wondered where the others were, many silent moments had passed since the hour she had arrived. Her mate had stepped down from Deputy, and in turn she had promoted her daughter, Carpediem. She was sure she'd get discrimination for such, but at this time, she figured it would be the last thing on her mind. Carpediem had led RiverClan's pro-side back and killed Ragenight. She had more than earned her position as Deputy.

Rangerflash she worried about too. His daughter had been threatened by Ragenight's fury. Plasmaflare, a brief crush she had spent mourning for a little before taking her love and giving it to Pandabear, knowing they could never be together because they had their clans to think for first. So many things had happened, and she was far behind.

Her claws dug into the rock, a brief passing wind made her shiver from cold as she glanced both ways. Would they show up soon? Or would this be a solo gathering tonight? The moon seemed clear of clouds, so it must have been a good sign.

Bearstar's gaze fell upon the cats as one by one they leaped or scrabbled atop the high rock. Barely any words muttered from them. Even Gravelstar had nothing much to say. After all, what was to be said after such a brutal attack that had claimed many of them?

She nodded her head briefly to a few of them, and spotted Plasmaflare near the back. What had be been so ashamed of? "They're not usually this... way." She murmured down to Carpediem, shaking her head.

You have been residing in DarkClan?" She asked curiously. She had been able to return to RiverClan grounds safely. Knowing her daughter had overthrown Ragenight and his successor, stripping one life after the other. She had no intentions of starting a fight at this gathering, they were all just returning to home after so long of being gone. Not even with Blacktwist did she offer anything other than a grim nod in his direction.

"You ever have that feeling where you're not sure if you're awake or still dreaming?"

Her body lay still as she breathed in and out, her stomach deflating as it rose and fell, to and fro. Her soul had been broken, her shell cracked for all to see inside the secrets that she bear. So often she had kept it up, unable to allow the darkness to consume her.

But down, down, down she had fallen. Everything she could have ever hoped to discover perchance was ripped from her the moment that they came. The had stolen her soul and kept it tightly sealed in a contained bottle. Starved and beaten, she took the beatings with little to no outbursts. She knew she had to show them who was stronger, and that no matter how many times they attempted to break her, she would hold on.

Sleep overcame her, and she spiraled into a different world, right to the grounds of the sacred land. Low and behold, the owners of StarClan. The brown tabby blinked, confused for a few moments before glancing around. "Hello?" She meowed, her voice hoarse. "Who's out there?"

Things were slowly going back to normal, the brown tabby was regaining her strength and her ribs showed less than they did before - though they could have been better. She had something on her mind, it had been bothering her for quite some time now.

"Grapevine?" She meowed, calling for her niece. She had adored the she-cat, always having been on RiverClan's side, no matter what the case or the result had been. "I need to speak to you." She meowed, a smile on her face. Though it bore no happiness on it.

Bearstar blinked and nodded her head at Plasmaflare's, and Gravelstars for that matter, news. She had known several of the Clans had fled to DarkClan's territory. It had been one of the few remaining proclans left to have been standing. WindClan had fled after BloodClan had taken their territory. "I was able to return straight to my land." She meowed, cries of relief and shock had spread quickly through the camp.

She smiled over at Swiftsolace and Carpediem and nodded her head in greeting to the others who arrived one by one. The news of Clouds death didn't shock her, the she-cat would have had it coming one way or another. "Who did it? Does anyone know?" She asked curiously.

"Cougareyes and Solieriver were murdered at the battle in ScarClan." She murmured out then. Remembering her father and daughter. Both viciously taken down by the horrible anticlan. She would never forgive them for taking away her family like that, even if it was an honor to have died for your Clan, nobody deserved to like that.

"I have an offering I'd like to make you." Bearstar began speaking, beginning it with exactly what she had had in mind for several hours now. "Would you like to become an Assistant Deputy to RiverClan?" The brown tabby asked her niece curiously.

Her life had started out a simple one, she had no goals or expectations to fulfill, she was a young soul with a youthful spirit. She couldn't have been happier being the daughter to Cougareyes and Springfall. But all too soon she had grown up, become an apprentice. Her older brother had mentored her and then later killed himself right after she became a warrior, her father had given her the name Bearkissed. She loved it greatly and cheerished the name, but then he had made her Deputy.

Anger coursed through many hearts at the announcement, so often she had felt the need to give up and let go, but stubborn as she was she kept on. For good reason too, It wasn't long before Cougarstar had been forced to resign from his position as leader, leaving Bearkissed to take the reigns into her own paws.

So much had changed since she became leader, and it felt like it was just going by too quickly, which made her need an escape. Hidden alone inside her den before she exploded. But a voice reached her ears all too quickly. "Dawn... vision?" She meowed, more from disbelief than lack of memory of her name. "Y-you're back?" She meowed, straightening up and going to meet the she-cat.

Bearstar said nothing as she listened to the conversation going on around them. She knew the death of her father and daughter meant little or nothing but the least they could have done was offer their condolences to her. Anger flared briefly but she moved on, they had to move on in order to become more powerful than the anti-clans.

"They will never be fully out of commission unless every last one of them has been demolished, but that is nearly impossible." The brown tabby meowed, flicking her tail. "We can keep it under control by continuing to rise in power." Bearstar meowed, waiting for others opinions.

Black smoke swirled around her, engulfing her and closing in on her before she had a chance to even do anything about it. She let out a wail but it was quickly abolished by everything. Captivating her she was thrown to the ground and let out a cough.

Treading on, there was nothing but deafening silence. The cascading river roared to life, and the foreign land suddenly became familiar. She was on the heart of her very land. Her heart fluttered with pride and happiness, though something was missing, she couldn't quite put a paw on it just this moment but was sure there was.

A caw from a crow made her turn her head, watching it flutter off before a shuffling had her whipping her head back in the other direction. What had that been and where was it now? It was feeling more eerily the longer time passed without meeting anyone. Why was she even here now? Spotting the WindClan border to the moor. She wondered briefly what it would have been like to be born a WindClanner but quickly washed the thought away. She never wanted to be one, and was proud to lead RiverClan.

D-daddy?" She found herself saying, without realizing she had reverted back to calling him what she had when she was a scared kit. She wasn't Bearkit anymore, she needed to learn to face her fears head on. She took a deep breath and glanced around; still no one. She wondered if her mother was here somewhere, that would have been great to see her - though she was severely disappointed in her mother for committing suicide.

The weather had been unusually nice as of late, permitting the brown tabby to go out for a walk by the river. She hadn't had any time to herself and was still recovering from her physical and mental abuse from ScarClan.

Her need to protect RiverClan's High Positions grew stronger, and the brown tabby had something to announce to all of RiverClan, when the time was right that was. She only hoped it wasn't something that would piss them off. But being the Leader of RiverClan she could do as she pleased.

She sighed softly, spotting a figure up ahead. Well that was just too bad, it looked like no matter where she went someone was always there. "Rainingjay." she purred softly, spotting her niece. She was very glad to have met the she-cat down here. "How are you? Your kits?" She didn't bother naming the kits since she knew Rainingjay had a bunch of kits she gave birth to.

"Sure you can or you can think rationally." The brown tabby meowed, flicking her tail. "We are in no condition to so quickly retaliate." The RiverClan Leader wanted to make sure that if they were even going to do anything that all of them were prepared. That meant getting BloodClan out of WindClan and putting them back to their land, taking Pagannight out of reign of Leadership and letting ShadowClan return home. ThunderClan seemed fine and for the most part, she was fine with RiverClan, though still weakened by the pain they put her through.

"We have to rise back in strength before unrationally attacking out of anger, that's exactly what they expect us to do." Bearstar said, scanning all of the cats. "Think with nothing but the rage inside of us to get even, when we can slowly plot sweet revenge." Bearstar herself wanted them gone, but she knew better than to attack when she was unprepared. Were they really thinking that she didn't want them out of power? She shook her head, they could be annoyed all they wanted, it wasn't going to bother her in the slightest.

This was one of the last things she had expected to have happened, but then again, she didn't expect ScarClan to have taken her prisoner, along with the others. If there was one thing that the brown tabby had learned more than anything in the world it was to expect the unexpected because anything could happen, whether or not you were paying attention.

She nodded her head at the former Medicine Cats words and smiled softly. It was a pleasant surprise to have seen her. So far, so good. She only hoped that there would continue to be no bickering between the two of them. Bearstar was in no condition to be dealing with that. "I suppose that would be a great idea after all." She purred softly, acknowledging Dawnvisions advice.

Her next words surprised Bearstar even more than her unannounced arrival. She was apologizing for what she had done, but Bearstar knew that she herself had played just as much a part as Dawnvision had. The brown tabby nodded her head slowly, and stood up to meet the other she-cat, gently placing her tail on her shoulder. "That's alright, Dawnvision." She murmured, before moving back. "I am sorry for my own actions towards you as well." She never knew why they couldn't just get along or where she had gone wrong from the start other than to be the direct kin of Cougareyes.

"We make mistakes, but we can own up to them and fix them." She purred softly. That was what she was going to do from now on. Before things got bad, she would fix them, lest she take a chance of losing those she cared for deeply. Never again would something forcefully take her from her own home.

Bearstar blinked, barely saying anything when Gravelstar finally spoke up. Usually the WindClan Leader always had something to say, but she made a good point, they really should have been discussing this stuff when they had more privacy without the eyes and ears of all their Clans'.

"You make a good point." She meowed out, stating exactly what had been on her mind. The brown tabby was quite tired and simply wanted to sleep and never wake up though she knew that wasn't very responsible and she had a job to uphold. Was this gathering over then? It had been a rather quick one, but then even now why would they have much to report other than they were all probably homesick and tired and just wanted to be home.

So many things had gone wrong that even Bearstar didn't know where exactly things had crossed the line. Everything felt like it had been working against her, and that Dawnvision had been out to get her. Every chance or open opportunity that came her way she had taken if it meant getting it before Dawnvision or hurting her.

They had all been nothing but childish acts out of pure greed and hate, and over what? What had it all been worth. The brown tabby shook her head, unable to think about it any longer. She had plotted ways time and again for Dawnvision and her sister to lose their positions as Medicine Cats. It had been nagging at the back of her mind ever since it had been done. Though it hadn't been until she had taken reign did she complete her ultimate goal at that time. "I was so foolish." She thought, shaking her head in disgust.

It had been nothing but a race against time between them. Who could make the other more miserable. They had hated each other with a worse passion in the world. And Bearstar's only reasoning upon hating her was because she hated her first. Wicked girl crimes had played out. "It's alright." She meowed, nodding her head.

"Hate brings out the worst of us all, I played fire with fire and burned down something that could have been prevented." Could it have been prevented? The hate they had clearly shown for the other? She couldn't remember where the line had passed, perhaps when she had made it her ultimate goal to remove Dawnvision from her prized position. She had held a grudge for many seasons because Dawnvision had hated her for nothing but her relation to her father.

"I would like that, for better." The brown tabby purred. They would never get anywhere if they could not resolve their problems and forgive each other. "Things went wrong, but I would love to see a common interest to working together." She purred. She had no mate hate or grudges against Dawnvision now. It was the anti-clans she hated the most, and she would do anything to rid of them.

The telepathy should have been something she was far used to by now, but another thought had not invaded her mind since ScarClan and it caused her to jump as well, flattening her ears against her head. "Use your mouth please." She gritted through clenched teeth. She didn't need the memories to come back with flying colors.

She shook her head, trying to clear any negative thoughts away she listened to her daughter speak. "It was a great place to ultimately take Ragenight down." She meowed, more so to herself than to the rest of them. Anywhere they were there would be spies and possible danger. It didn't matter how hard they tried.

"I think that would be a good idea, Gravelstar." She was tired of the mind fucking games but two could play that game. It was all a matter of how everything was set up and then used accordingly. "We all have at least a pawful of cats in our Clans who possess such powers." Though she was beginning to even question why StarClan had given them these powerful abilities in the first place if it was doing no good but to hurt them and their loved ones. "Several in my Clan read thoughts or wander dreams." Bearstar said, though it wasn't any big grand surprise.

"Perhaps we can train our warriors to block these powers, it'd take time and effort but in the end if it could stop them from surrendering to them then it would be for great uses."

Bearstar had been sound asleep for once, finally able to get a full nights rest after everything that had occurred over the last moon. Sighing softly she blinked open her eyes, only to spot a shimmer of a movement. She frowned and scrambled back to her paws again, blinking her eyes.

"Who is there?" She meowed, her defenses alert. "Show yourself!" The brown tabby didn't take kind to any cats or invaders for that matter anymore. [b]"If you're not going to show yourself you're going to regret it." She continued on.

"Enough is enough!" Bearstar yowled out. "This meeting is over!" The brown tabby meowed. She had had enough talk about Ragenight. "He is gone and that is all that matters now!" RiverClan would soon turn back into the Clan that it was.

They were fearless! They were powerful! They were RiverClan! "Nothing will destroy us, we will persevere!" The RiverClan leader called out, watching the cats. "Send border patrols out, go hunting! Go fishing!" She told her Clan. "Be free and happy! Relax in the sun, tell stories! You're no longer under his control!"

The last time she had called a Clan meeting had been a few days ago, after her return to RiverClan after Ragenight's reign had ended. "Cats of RiverClan gather around!" The brown tabby yowled out. She had an important meeting to call, for very good reasons.

"There are some changes coming to RiverClan that you need to be aware of!" She called out. She knew from the beginning she would have a huge amount of cats yelling at her out of pure anger, but hey, she was used to that now and didn't give a damn.

Scanning the crowd, she looked for three cats in particular. "Swiftsolace!" She yowled out. "The time has come for you to be promoted to full Deputy!" She knew some of them likely wouldn't agree with her decision, seeing as she had Rangerflash and Carpediem, but Swiftsolace was a great cat and she knew exactly what she was doing. "I should hope that you trust my decision on a third and final Deputy." She said to the Clan.

There was two other cats she had yet to announce but would wait for that. She hadn't seen them just yet either.

Bearstar's smile disappeared and turned to a slow nod, more of thinking than anything else. What would it have been like to have been friends from the start? Sharing laughs, meals, talking about their days. It seemed impossible to think that that could have ever been a possibility after how the show had played out but that was just how life was.

"I have to wonder myself." She laughed, softly. "Perhaps everything would have been different." Well of course it would be different. Would she have still been leader and Dawnvision Medicine Cat? She shook her head, it would get them no wonder to ponder the past, they could work on a better future now. "I would like that." The brown tabby purred happily. Why wouldn't she? She didn't want to be awkward like this with Dawnvision anymore. They could be friends, she was sure of it!

Bearstar frowned slightly then but nodded her head. "I can teach you everything you need to know." The she-cat said, suddenly getting excited. "Hunting and fighting are what I'm great at!" Bearstar couldn't heal, nor did she have any interest in healing, however she could do everything else. "If... if you want me to that is." She added on, suddenly feeling self conscious. "Don't feel stupid, your life was spent healing, naturally you wouldn't know this stuff." Bearstar said, nodding her head.
